We were keen to hit the road back to Las Vegas after our night in the Wigwam Motel. Breakfast options were scant in Holbrook so we decided to try our luck in Winslow which wasn’t much better. Must have been too early in the day for some of the cafes and restaurants.
Our first stop though would be Walnut Canyon National Monument. It is located about 16 km) southeast of Flagstaff, Arizona, a 1.4 km long loop trail descends 56 m into the canyon passing 25 cliff dwelling rooms that were constructed by the Sinagua people.
The hike around the loop is easy to do, best not to do in in the middle of summer like we did though.
Getting into Flagstaff we found ourselves at a Burger King where I had a Whopper meal for breakfast. It was the first time the meal matched the photo advertisements. Also the first time I’d seen Whopper meals advertised for breakfast. got to love the good ol’ USA.
