Our trip was nearly over, today we rode into Los Angles in the hope of getting a photo of the Hollywood sign. We had no idea where to go though. So we pulled up on a random street and took a photo, nearly got fined by the local Parking Officer. We rode off as he …

Our last day of doing Route 66, in my view don’t do the Los Angeles freeway system on a Saturday morning if you’re not sure of where you’re going. It can be confusing and it’s freaking really busy. We ended up going to Eagle Rider to swap out one of the bikes due to electrical …

Nothing spectacular today, a lot of the day was simply travelling through the Mojave desert. It’s just kilometres and kilometres of barren land with a strip of road through the centre. We were following the old 66 from Ludlow to Barstow, the road got so rough we we turned around just after we passed an …

Due to slow Internet connection this one’s a day late. This was our last day in Arizona and into California, once we left Kingman we had a short trip to Cool Springs. Cool Springs sits on one side of Sitgreaves Pass a 9 mile 14.5km action of twisty road to Oatman consisting of around 122 curves. …

We left Vegas today and headed south back to Arizona, on the way we stopped at Lake Mead – Hoover dam. Was really cool driving on top on the dam wall that’s featured in so many movies. After that it was onto Kingman for a visit to the Route 66 museum with a bite for …

Today was a sleep in and relax day, I had to go to Eagle Rider and get my bike gear linkage fixed. Also went to Gold and Silver Pawn Shop and Rick’S restorations for a look. Both are very popular tourist spots with the “stars” being elsewhere and other staff dealing with the throng of …

Yesterday we left lovely Williams and travelled part of the I-40 to Seligman AZ. than onto old Route 66. Seligman AZ. is where the whole historic Route 66 campaign kicked off with Angel Delgardillo and his campaign for “Historic Route 66” signage on the former US highway; similar initiatives have since been established in every …

A great day to touring around today, first up we doubled back to Two Arrows, Two Guns and the Meteor Crater for some photos and a quick visit. Then it was back to Flagstaff then we headed north to Cameron and then off into the Grand Canyon National Park. Photos and words don’t adequately describe …

After the storm yesterday we hit the road and found it pretty cool within a short distance. So a quick stop was in order to put on some extra clothes. The road through this part of New Mexico is poorly signed in regard to Route 66 signage. Not a lot to look at from a …
