As we had a fairly big day travelling, we were up early and leaving the motel by 5:50am. The GPS surprisingly gave us clear and easy directions for departing Sydney, unlike the ones it gave coming into Sydney. As usual with big cities everyone is in a hurry and the traffic was leaving us for dead as we started heading north.
Our journey today would see us get to Brisbane, with only 2 main stops at Tacking Point Lighthouse and Cape Byron Lighthouse.
It is not a drive I’m sure I’d do again in one day, with checking out the lighthouses, rest breaks, a lunch and fuel stop we checked into the Oaks Aurora in Brisbane at 6:20pm. Once we were settled in and unpacked, we went for a short walk to The Pig and Whistle Riverside for a couple of beers and a bite to eat. After that it was the fun of doing a load of laundry. We are pretty hard core on holidays :D.
