It was our final day in Melbourne for this trip and we had some touristy things to do so it was going to be a busy day. After breakfasting at the Elevate Lounge we began our adventures. Jumping on a free tram our first stop for the day was the Victorian Police Museum in Spencer Street. It’s well worth visiting just to see the history of policing in Victoria. The Kelly exhibit is a bonus.

From there it was another visit to the Queen Victoria Market for a wander around and a quick bite to eat for lunch. Then we jumped on a tram again and made our way to Cook’s Cottage located in the Fitzroy Gardens. I’d always assume it was the cottage of the famous explorer and navigator Captain James Cook. It was actually by his parents in the English village of Great Ayton, North Yorkshire in 1755. The building was purchased and brought to Melbourne in 1934 by the Australian philanthropist Sir Russell Grimwade.

The Conservatory in the Fitzroy Gardens is located close to Cook’s Cottage and is another site that should be checked out as it  houses magnificent indoor floral displays that are changed five times each year

With our sightseeing done we made our way back to the Pullman to check out the Blossom Rooftop bar. As well as another visit to the Elevate Lounge for the daily canapes and drinks which were part of our trip package.
