Today seen another early start as we wanted to see a few more sites along our journey to Echuca in Victoria a journey of around 650km.. Our first stop of the day was West Wyalong about 140km south west of Parkes. With stops planned at:

After seeing the McCann Park Tree Sculpture  we popped into the local bakery – French Hot Bread for some breakfast. Two pies and a coffee wasn’t the healthiest breakfast going. Mind you we are on holidays and are not sticking to a healthier eating plan most days. Leaving West Wyalong we headed towards Temora to visit the Temora Aviation Museum. We arrived in Temora before the museum opened so we did some photo stops at Lake Centenary, the old Temora Railway station and got some phots of a couple of the pubs in town.

Temora Aviation Museum

If you love aircraft and history around the RAAF then Temora Aviation Museum is a must see destination. Temora was the site of the No. 10 Elementary Flying Training School (10 EFTS) established by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) in May 1941. We have done a more in depth review on our visit here.  Plenty of photos and video of our visit for you to see.

Next on our list was the Narrandera Water Tower Art, this is listed as part of the Silo Art trail across Australia. From there is was more driving until we got to Deniliquin and a visit to the amazing automotive collection at The Depot.

The Depot – Historic Vehicle and Memorabilia Collection

The Depot, houses the  historic vehicle and memorabilia collections of Purtill family. It is an amazing collection of vehicle and memorabilia. We have a more detailed review of our visit here.

Now for the last leg of our journey to Echuca where we would stay for a few days. We had a trip down the Murray River booked on a paddle steamer and some silo art sites to check out.

The Paddlewheel Motel is a great location, close to cafes. hotels and shops. A short walk to the port of Echuca if you are keen.

See our review on our stay here.

With our journey done it was time to refresh and relax, I make a point of when booking accommodation that it is walking distance to dining and drinking venues so we don’t have to drive anywhere.

The Mill is a short walk from the motel it is a fabulous destination to eat, drink and unwind. It was once Echuca’s iconic flour mill, the five-story building was constructed in 1881 and is a heritage-listed warehouse.
