Today was the day we headed to Brisbane to do some last-minute shopping and check into our motel. We later headed into the Breakfast Creek Hotel for a few adult beverages and dinner. I was very disappointed with the “Breakie Creek”, after looking forward to a dry aged steak for months they said they couldn’t do one. We would have been better off eating elsewhere. It was great to catch up with our daughter and her boyfriend though.
Once sated we headed back to the motel for the night, the Ibis Budget Brisbane Airport doesn’t have much going for it beside the proximity to the airport. No lifts, limited parking and billing you for the room 6 months out puts me off staying there again. When the morning came we were off to the international airport to drop-off our car at Brisbane Airport Parking for us this is the most convenient option.
In the words of John Denver, we’re “Leaving on a Jet Plane”, yes indeed the day was nearly here for us to journey to the good old USA. We are finally embarking on our journey of riding Route 66. It seems like ages since we first started planning this journey about 10 months in fact. Time seemed to click along so slowly and all of the sudden we’re ready to depart.
This will be our first long distance flight flying Business Class, something we never planned on due to the extra cost involved. We figured it was better to save the difference in cost for spending money. So when we were offered to bid for a seat upgrade we figured we’d give it a go and offered the minimum bid allowed. To our slight surprise our “UpgradeMe Premium Bid offer” was successful.
