Burgers and Beers 🍔🍺
Hello Harry is located at Walton Stores precinct, a social, civic and dining spot right in the heart of the Toowoomba CBD at 476–482 Ruthven Street.
We’d visited Hello Harry once before and came away impressed, so it seemed like a good opportunity for a return visit.
Hello Harry promotes its burgers as “ridiculously good”, with everything from the meat to the marinades made in-house and cooked fresh to order. That’s a fairly bold claim, but after our first visit, we were happy to give them another crack.
Interestingly, on our first visit we’d assumed Hello Harry was a trendy little local burger joint. It wasn’t until we checked out the menu that we discovered it’s actually part of a franchise. Cue a little hesitation from someone who generally prefers to steer clear of burger chains!
Thankfully, our first experience had been excellent, and this week’s return visit made choosing our Thirsty Thursday destination an easy decision.
What’s on the menu?
Mrs Thirsty went for the Maple Bacon Burger, while I decided to try the Southern Fried Chicken Burger, complete with chipotle aioli, jalapeños, mixed slaw and pickled carrots.
The pickles weren’t quite my cup of tea (or should that be burger topping?), so they were quickly given the flick.
Both burgers were excellent, and the Southern Fried Chicken Burger had just the right amount of heat. Enough to give the tastebuds a little wake-up call without setting off the emergency services!
And what about the thirsty part?
Well, I’d ordered through the app and, in keeping with tradition, we naturally added two Hello Harry Lagers to the order.
Unfortunately, we were informed they were out of stock. Not quite the news I was hoping for when ordering a beer!
A quick rethink was required, and with Pale Ale being the available tap option, I decided to give it a go. Now, Pale Ale isn’t exactly my favourite style of beer, but you never know unless you try.
The Thirsty Tourists verdict
All in all, we enjoyed another excellent meal at Hello Harry. The burgers were tasty, the service was good, and we left well fed and watered.
