Sometimes you don’t need a fancy resort, a rooftop bar or a room with more buttons than a Boeing cockpit. Sometimes you just need somewhere clean, quiet and comfortable to lay your head for the night. And that’s exactly where the Aspley Carsel Motor Inn comes into its own!
We’ve stayed here a few times now, mainly because it’s conveniently located for visiting family, getting to Brisbane Airport and heading into the CBD.
A handy location
The motel’s location makes it a practical choice when visiting Brisbane and the surrounding areas. Whether we’re catching up with family, heading to the airport or venturing into the city, it’s a convenient base without needing to stay right in the middle of the CBD.
🛏️ Clean, quiet and comfortable
Initially, we weren’t quite sure what to expect for the price. Sometimes a bargain can turn out to be one of those experiences where you start questioning your life choices as soon as you open the door!
Thankfully, that wasn’t the case here.
The motel is very clean, the beds are comfortable and, despite being situated on a main road, we found it surprisingly quiet. That’s a definite bonus when you’re trying to get a decent night’s sleep rather than listening to the traffic soundtrack all night.
It’s not pretending to be a five-star luxury establishment, and that’s part of its appeal. It provides what you need without trying to sell you a whole lot of extras you probably don’t want or need.

We’ve stayed at the Aspley Carsel Motor Inn several times and have been happy with our experiences. It’s clean, quiet, comfortable and conveniently located for our needs.
We really couldn’t fault it. It does exactly what it says on the tin, without any unnecessary fuss or inflated expectations.
