We started our day with a fantastic breakfast at Johnny and Lyle cafe. It was pretty close to our motel and we could have walked there. When I booked our accommodation for this trip I never considered it going to be over Easter. This in turn altered our plans slightly so we decided to do the paddlesteamer trip on the PS Canberra before Easter.

We booked the first tour of the day so we could see some of the sites around Echuca as well. The PS Canberra is operated by Murray River Paddlesteamers. They are located at the Port of Echuca.

After our 1 hour tour was done we wandered around Echuca taking in the sites and visiting some of the local drinking establishments. Echuca has a lot to offer and it is well worth making sure you plan any trip to the area over several days so you don’t have to rush along checking out the sites.

The Echuca Heritage Sweet Co is sweet tooth heaven and they have an amazing range of chocolate and confectionery.

We decided a min pub crawl was in order and checked out the following venues.

  • 1895
  • American Hotel
  • Shamrock Hotel
  • Barlee
We made the American Hotel our lunch stop and talk about it a bit in our Day 4 video above.

We finished off our day with some amazing Indian cuisine at the Echuca Curry Club.

The is was back to the motel as tomorrow would see us on our Silo Art tour around Echuca.
