When we say this one is local, we’re not kidding! The Meringandan Hotel is a mere 1.4km walk from home. That’s practically in the backyard… although naturally, the return journey might take a little longer depending on how many refreshments are consumed! 😂
When we were first looking at moving to the area, we came across plenty of glowing reviews about this country pub. So, naturally, we had to investigate for ourselves.
Well, the reviews weren’t wrong!
The beers are cold, the meals are generous, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is exactly what you’d hope for from a good country pub.
It’s obviously no secret to the locals either. Dinner bookings are often snapped up, and lunchtime attracts a cracking crowd. Clearly, we’re not the only ones who appreciate a good pub feed and a cold drink.
It’s easy to see why this place has become such a popular local gathering spot. Good food, friendly country pub atmosphere and no need to travel halfway across Queensland to enjoy it.

A terrific country pub that lives up to its reputation. If you’re exploring the Toowoomba region, put the Meringandan Hotel on your list.
And for us? It’s dangerously convenient. Having a good pub just 1.4km away could become a very expensive walking habit! 🤣
